A character caresses one side of his face with one hand while violently slapping and punching the other side with the other, accompanied by a soundtrack of people cheering him on. The footage, which has been manipulated, is a recording of a video performance I made in 2006. The work is cathartic in nature, playing on the relationship between compliance with and rejection of social discourses.
